Craig Smylie

Craig Smylie joined the JET 24 and FOX 66 staff in August 2007 as the weekend sports anchor and weekday sports reporter and took over as sports director in July 2010.

A native of Solon, Ohio, a suburb on Cleveland's southeast side, Craig graduated from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University with a major in broadcast journalism and a minor in psychology. Prior to coming to Erie, Craig worked at WOHL-TV in Lima, Ohio.

During his career, Craig has covered two Super Bowls, two NBA Finals, a World Series as well as countless state and national tournaments. While you can find him anchoring the sportscasts Monday through Friday, you can often find him covering college and pro football on weekends each fall.

Craig has two beautiful daughters, Payson and Rowan, and in his lack of spare time, he enjoys singing, playing piano, watching the Browns and Buckeyes and catching a movie. If you have a story idea or just want to say hi, email Craig at csmylie@wjettv.com.
