IT'S LOCAL—It's our solution to losing the Erie based office of the National Weather Service in 1996.  Our radar isn't coming from Buffalo or Cleveland.  Our radar tower is right here in front of the station.  Our WJET-TV meteorologists now have more accurate and detailed information to include in their weather forecasts.

IT'S LIVE —Our meteorologists don't have to rely on radar images that are up to 20 minutes old.  They monitor weather conditions as they develop.  When severe weather threatens our region, every second counts!  Early warnings help to save property and lives.

IT'S STATE OF THE ART —JET Pinpoint DOPPLER radar is the most advanced weather radar for broadcast in the country!  JET Pinpoint DOPPLER radar was built in 1999, unlike other Doppler radars used in Erie that are 10 or more years old.  We're all aware of the tremendous advances in technology in the last decade.  We don't have to rely on yesterday's tools to forecast the weather.
