State Senator Sean Wiley says 11th grader Aubrey Favors is a testament to the knowledgeable and talented youth we have in our community.
Traci Teudhope introduces us to this week's Good Kid.

Senator Sean Wiley, (D) 49th District, says: "I'm incredibly impressed with this young man and he's a glimmer of light for our future because he is our future."

Aubrey has been interning all summer long with Senator Wiley, and he says it's been a valuable, eye- opening experience.

Aubrey Favors, 11th grader, says: "I was able to actually sit in on a couple of meetings with the senator regarding issues in our community and stuff he wanted to address."

Aubrey describes the senator as humble and gracious.

Aubrey, "He went out of his way to help pave the way for my future and that's something I was not expecting from somebody in his position."

But where does his motivation and dedication come from?

Aubrey, "I plan on becoming a supreme court justice some day, and I feel like this is a position where I can really start working toward that."

And after a summer working side-by-side with the senator, he's got a big supporter in his corner.

Senator Wiley, "With Aubrey it's clear he's going to be very successful. He's going to be on the supreme court at some point, there's no question about it. I'm going to watch him move all the way to the top."

And that gives the senator a lot of hope for our future.

Senator Wiley, "This type of mindset and the skills that this man has are really going to make an impact on what we do every day."
