Hearts Without Homes Blake 01/31/2017

JET 24/FOX66 is helping foster children find forever homes.  This month's teen has a passion for cars.

17 year old Blake likes mechanics and football.  He knows his end goal, but he needs a family to help him get there.  "I know exactly what I want to do with my life. I may not know how to get there, but that's what I need a famlily for... someone to help me, boost me forward."

Blake has been in and out of foster homes since he was six years old.  Over the years, he's found ways to express himself.  "I like playing sports. I like being athletic. I like weightlifting, which is normal if you play football. Drawing, I'm very artistic. I like drawing. I can't draw people for my life."

During a recent tour of the Erie County Technical School, Blake showed off his mechanics skill set.  He fell in love with cars during previous vocational training.  "I want to start my own chain of auto mechanic job sites like how AutoZone is. I want to start my own."

Nowadays, Blake's ambition is matched only by his wisdom.  "I've had some moments where I was like, 'I wish I could go back and change life and never what I've had happen to me happen,' but now I look back and I'm like 'Oh, that's what made me who I am today.' That's why I want to do what I do."
