Judge shares picture of family on Facebook

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Two days before the Green Bay Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys in a come-from-behind victory, Packers wide receiver Jordy Nelson was in a Texas courtroom.

Nelson and his wife, Emily, were in front of Judge David A. Canales, of the 73rd District Court in Bexar County, to adopt a San Antonio girl, Adda Jo, KSAT TV reports.

Canales shared a Facebook post on Oct. 6 saying, "Among the many things I get to do as a judge, one of my favorite is presiding over adoptions.

"Today I was blessed to have Emily and Jordy Nelson come before me to adopt little Adda Jo!

"This is a wonderful couple and a beautiful family. Congratulations to the Nelsons! They personify service and exemplify love. #ILoveAdoptions."

Adda Jo is the couple's third child and second through adoption, WISC TV reports.

Nelson's agent told KSAT that Adda Jo has been living with the Nelson family since birth. The appearance before Canales was to to finalize the adoption after fostering the girl for seven months.

Texas law requires a child live with his/her adoptive parents for at least six months before the adoption in finalized, KSAT reports.

WISC TV reports, Nelson serves as an ambassador for an adoption organization, the Jockey Being Family Foundation.
