ERIE, Pa. -- Two West County men were arrested and charged with arson and insurance fraud for setting a car on fire.
Daniel Dzikowski, 46, and John Mooney Jr., 49, are charged following an investigation into a fire that destroyed a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer on Dec. 4.
According to the criminal complaint, Dzitkowski took the vehicle to Mooney's property on North Street in Albion where the vehicle was set on fire.
Following an investigation, the complaint states that Mooney admitted that the vehicle had been intentionally set on fire in an attempt to collect insurance money on the vehicle.
Mooney also stated that he was to be given $2,000 by Dzikowski once reimbursement was provided by the insurance company.
Dzikowski was a member of the A.F. Dobler Hose & Ladder Co.
Both men posted bail after being arraigned.
