The Auditor General is criticizing the Millcreek School Boards latest vote regarding the agreement with the Erie Otters.

He says education should come before athletics.

The Millcreek School Board approved the continuation of the Otters agreement on March tenth.

By a six to two vote The Erie Otters and the Millcreek School District partnership was continued.
In the auditor general's initial audit of the district he criticized the agreement advising the district to stop the agreement.

Meanwhile the school district is considering closing it's Montessori classes at Belle Valley and Grandview schools.

Auditor General Eugene Depasquale had this to say about those two actions “If you're out of district you have to pay tuition.period, end of story, end of discussion. Then to do that while cutting academic programs you have to put these kids first and not every kid is an athlete”

Superintendent bill hall would not make him self available to comment on this story today.

In return for the free tuition Millcreek officials say the district receives 5 thousand dollars in tickets and advertisements.
