A photo of books found in a dumpster outside of an area school has created a social media firestorm. The books were thrown into the dumpster at Chestnut Hill Elementary School.

Its unclear how the books got there or who threw them away however many people are suspecting some of the books may be outdated.

Millcreek Township School Board member Donna Reese says what was done is just wrong; "My first concern was when I looked at them they looked like they were in very good shape and I made a point that if we have old text books that are outdated, fallen apart, that's one thing, you dispose of them but those look like library books at elementary level."

Millcreek Township School District Superintendent Bill Hall says the district disposes of books every three to five years.
