A group of cadets were honored for their hard work at Mercyhurst North East this morning.

Thirty cadets received certificates for completing their Act 120 training at Mercyhurst's Municipal Police Training Academy. This training is required for most law enforcement jobs, including municipal police work.

The cadets spent 22 weeks practicing skills they will carry with them into their careers.

"It was a lot of training and classroom work to lead up to this moment so it's a really proud moment and uh self accomplishment," says Cadet James Kistler.

Erie Police Chief Randy Bowers was today's commencement speaker.
