Just before 3a.m., emergency crews were called to that crash in the 1600 block of Cranberry Street.
According to reports from the scene, the driver of the car was traveling south on Cranberry at a high rate of speed.
That's when police say he struck a concrete barrier, sending his Jeep rolling over all 4 sets of train tracks and coming to rest on the south side of the tracks.
Train traffic had to be stopped while the tracks were cleared of debris, one of the tracks will need repaired due to the crash.
The driver was taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment of his injuries.
