On Wednesday's noon Jet Pet we featured a cat and the cat had its ears "notched" or cut.
Ruth Thompson Carroll of the ANNA Shelter says "eartipping" and "notching" is a normal and common trend.
The procedure is fairly quick and happens while the cat is under anesthesia.
There is minimal bleeding and the procedure is essentially painless to the cat.
Thompson Carroll says tattooing, ear tagging and micro-chipping are often ineffective especially when identifying stray cats.
