Dr Sumita Khatri of the Cleveland Clinic has this recommendation "Use green, healthy, natural cleaning products instead of those very strong smelling, hard core cleaning materials that could take the veneer off of everything. Instead use things like oil based soaps, vinegar and lemon juice."
