Community Rallies for Increased Public Transportation Funding

May 18, 2014 - A nationwide effort to increase funding for public transportation has touched down in Erie.

Dozens gathered in Perry Square this afternoon in advance of National Transit Call Congress Day which takes place on Tuesday.

The rally was put together by Local ATU 568.

The goal of today's event was simple: to urge the community to get in touch with their elected US senators this Tuesday -- on Election Day -- and ask for increased funding for public transportation in the surface transportation bill..
