Erie Community Foundation Hosts Annual Meeting
MAY 29, 2014-- On Thursday the Erie Community Foundation announced to more than 500 donors, non-profits and other supporters just how much money the community has given to local non-profits through the foundation. The foundation has numerous programs set up as community outreach including 'Helping Today' grants and the big 'Erie Gives' day. This year’s annual report meeting was themed the domino effect. The community foundation is showing how grants are assisting locals in need for the future. For Erie Gives this year more 4,600 donors made 4,800 online donations that totaled more than 1.7 million dollars and helped more than 300 non-profits. For 2013 the Erie Community Foundation has made 1,993 grants, totaling more than 10 million dollars for the community. The foundation helped award scholarships to nearly 500 students in 2013.
