Fatal Shooting Investigation Continues

- The investigation into a deadly weekend shooting that took the life of a college student in a quiet Erie neighborhood continues.

Investigators are piecing together what happened inside of the home on Kahkwa Boulevard.

Neighbors tell us they didn't know the homeowner who just moved in a few months ago but they say what happened Saturday is alarming.

23-year-old Abram Sorek is dead following a shooting inside of a friend's home at 609 Kahkwa Boulevard.

Investigators say Sorek, who was senior at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, was with four long term childhood friends early Saturday morning.

Police say a gun was fired and it was not the victim who pulled the trigger.

Sorek later died at UPMC Hamot at 3:41 a.m. of a single gunshot wound to the side of the head.

Investigators say there was no argument before the shooting and the coroner's office tells us suicide has been ruled out.

District Attorney Jack Daneri says the four friends that were inside of the home are cooperating with the investigation....

Coroner Lyell Cook has not yet ruled on the manner of Sorek's death and tells us he plans to meet with the parties involved and go from there.
