Fire Leaves Seven Homeless

- Seven people are homeless today after a fire near Jamestown, Pennsylvania early today. Shortly before 6 a-m the Jamestown Fire Department was dispatched to 3580 Pitts Rd for a fully engulfed structure fire.

When crews arrived on scene the home was already burned to the ground and a total loss.

4 adults were home at the time of the blaze and were able to leave safely, the 3 children who also reside there were not home. 6 cats and 2 dogs perished in the flames, but one of the residents told firefighters that it was the pets that woke them and allowed them to escape.

One fireman was injured on scene while fighting the blaze, he was transported via ambulance to Greenville for treatment of an ankle injury.

No word on the cause of the fire.
