August 30, 2014 U.S. Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) today announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has awarded $76,665 in grants to Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department Inc. Township for operations and safety.

“Pennsylvania’s firefighters endure risk and sacrifice every day to keep their community safe,” said Senator Casey. “This money will help provide Erie County’s firefighters with the resources they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they serve.”

Funds are awarded through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program (AFG), which aims to strengthen the health and safety of the nation’s first responders and those they serve.
