Operating earnings in the second quarter of 2014 for General Electric came in at $3.9 billion.
At Erie's largest employer, GE Transportation, President and CEO Russell Stokes, says second quarter revenues of $1.3 billion were down 18% and operating profit was down 14%.
However, orders were up 35%.
Stokes said in a statement, “As a business, we met most of our second quarter targets, and we achieved significant wins including the Singapore Land Transfer Authority signaling deal valued at $125mm and our first Tier 4 order. These wins are the result of our continued investments in technology."
