GE Union Gets Good News From Labor Department

Members of GE Electrical Workers Local 506 got some good news from the United States Department of Labor today.
When General Electric decided to shift a portion of the work from Lawrence Park to Fort Worth Texas, UE 506 petitioned the government for trade adjustment assistance. That petition has been granted.

Union President Scott Duke said more than 300 workers will now qualify for extended unemployment and healthcare in addition to worker training and relocation benefits. The ruling applies to GE workers who are laid off due to the move, and contract workers from Adecco Erie who were also affected
