Dozens of laid off workers at GE Transportation are being called back to work. Approximately 70 workers at the GE plant have been called back to work, or will be soon. Union President Scott Duke says the workers are being called back after the company told the union that 507 locomotives will be built at the Erie plant this year.

Last year, the company announced that 950 employees would lose their jobs with cuts beginning last November.

According to a statement released this morning, the company is adjusting workforce staffing levels to meet customer needs in 2014. They say they are re-aligning staffing through a combination of transfers and recalls.
