Saturday is opening day of trout season, but today, the tradition continued with stocking area creeks and streams with thousands of brown trout.

As usual a crowd, both young and old, gathered at Elk Creek in McKean to give the fish and boat commission a hand.

Each one of the trout averages 11 inches and weighs about 3 quarters of a pound.

The thousands of brown trout were raised at Benner Springs Fishing Hatchery near State College.

This is one of the many stops today for these tank trucks full of fish.

They'll be stocking 20 mile, cascade, elk and crooked creeks.

Fishing lines can hit the water at 8am tomorrow morning.

A lot of places in the area will be open for breakfast before the anglers head out to their favorite fishing spot.
