Ground Broken For New Habitat Home

- An Erie family is on its way to having a brand new home, built from the ground up, thanks to Habitat for Humanity, and FMC Technologies.

Construction officially began today with volunteers from FMC Technologies hard at work to help build this home.

This is the first time FMC has partnered with Habitat for Humanity.

Not only did the company donate the building materials, but the volunteers are FMC employees who are taking time off to help out.

They tell us they are thrilled to be here helping a family build a new home and showing the community how committed FMC is to giving back.

The future homeowners, Mike and Tamara Rowan are here too, hammering away and laying down wood.

The Rowan's tell us this whole project is a blessing, and that they are so thankful and ready to move into this nice neighborhood with their three kids.

The project is set to be completed in 21 days.

That surely is possible if the weather stays as beautiful as it is today.

And Tamara tells us the kids are so excited about their new home, they ask about it, every day.
