A new study says our region is lacking in entrepreneurial opportunity and that's why officials are stepping up to the plate hoping to give local innovators a push to make their dreams come true.
Dozens of area stake holders and community leaders gathered at the blasco library this morning to address the fact that local entrepreneurs are struggling to make a difference.
The statistics come from a 100 thousand dollar study funded by the State Department of Community and Economic Development that analyzed entrepreneurial opportunities in Pennsylvania.
The innovation collaborative is being lead by the Technology Council of North Western Pennsylvania.
Officials involved in this project say there is a need for more risk takers and more investors to put Erie on the map and they’re hoping this jumpstart study will give area entrepreneurs a much needed push to get the ball rolling.
