Tomorrow is the day a high tech weather buoy will be deployed into Lake Erie, off the mouth of Walnut Creek.

The weather buoy will provide safety data to help boaters and fishermen determine the lake water temperature, the size of the waves, wind direction and feature a video camera for a look at lake conditions.

The buoy will be located about five miles out in the lake off Walnut Creek and is a project of the Regional Science Consortium.

Once the buoy is up and operating Jet 24 meteorologists will provide the buoy data on the air and on yourerie.com.
