The bay will be dark this year with no fireworks scheduled for the 4th of July.

Many locals are wondering where the fireworks will be this year, and after an amazing show last year, this year may disappoint.
Last year the Perry 200 funded the "Boom On The Bay" for the 4th of July, and in the past Mercyhurst University has also funded it but no longer had the money to give. This year, with no funding, there is no firework show scheduled.

The Erie community will have to celebrate the holiday without fireworks over the bay this year.
In years past, the Boom on the Bay has brought thousands of people to the waters edge to see the show and celebrate Americas birthday.
Many people say a city like Erie should have fireworks on the holiday.
