A "no" vote from Waterford Township Water and Sewer Authority has put KLN's plan to move into the area in jeopardy.

The township authority was the last piece of the puzzle to bring KLN Family Brands to Waterford. The snack food company hopes to move into the Troyer Farms plant but needed approval for a sewer line extension that the company would pay for.

They also said they would turn the line over the to the community if they left the area. County council member Ed DiMatto said tonight the authority voted two to two and ultimately did not grant the sewer line extension. The bid agreement deadline for the company is tomorrow and if they have to start the bidding process over it will take a long time for the company to get up and running.

On Wednesday KLN officials told us the company had planned to open in July, but with this decision that could be postponed and probably won't take place this year. KLN planned to hire 125 local employees and expand as they developed.
