The Erie Fire Department was hoping to fill the boot like never before. And tonight it looks like they've done that.
City firefighters took part in their 44th annual "Boot Day" to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
With boots in hand, firefighters fanned out across the city all day today collecting money.
Last year, the drive brought in more than 22 thousand dollars for the MDA.
This year, volunteers were hoping to beat that record.
And with your help the firefighters raised over twenty-three-thousand dollars this year.
This was an extra special year. as the drive honored Jack Armbruster who was the local MDA ambassador.
Armbruster lost his battle with Muscular Dystrophy in September.
