Mercyhurst Northeast is expanding their backyard garden with the help of The Second Harvest Food Bank. The university has partnered with the food bank for five years to donate their leftover crops.

This year, the campus has some extra space so the food bank is planting its own crops. Mercyhurst farm manager tim bouche says this project is part of the university's mission. "It's just part of the mission statement of Mercyhurst University to continue with helping the poor, helping the less fortunate and helping the community"

Mercyhurst students will help harvest these crops in the fall.
