At City Hall this morning Erie residents had the chance to learn more about the future of Perry Square and give their input too.
If council gives the go-ahead the city's Director of Economic and Community Development will apply for a 350-thousand dollar Keystone Communities Grant.
It’s is one of two major state grants being sought for renovation to Perry Square.

All of the planned changes are part of a Perry Square 2-point-5 million dollar master plan. Brenda Sandberg, Director of Economic and Community Development: said this about the project "We are hoping to remove the gazebo create new stage closer to state open to park and state street for events and do some additional site furnishings with benches trees and ancillary items"

The grant deadline is July first with construction begining as funding is secured. The goal for completion is this fall.
