Improving the environment with new opportunities for Erie's youth, that's the goal of State Senator Sean Wiley's latest initiative.

It’s a collaboration of dozens of community leaders.

On the heels of violence in the city and community leaders calling for a summer jobs program to curb that violence State Senator Sean Wiley is exploring opportunities for another organization to complement the existing agencies in Erie.

The collaborative efforts Wiley says could end the on-going poverty cycle in Erie.

The founder of the Manchester Bidwell Corporation Bill Strickland stopped in Erie to explain how and why his program works.

The Manchester Bidwell Corporation provides arts education and career training for underserved youth and their families in the Pittsburgh area.

Strickland helped start programs like the one in Pittsburgh across the country in several states, a program he says has potential in Erie.

The next step is for the committee to compelte a strategic plan that will determine if the center will be built in Erie
