May 10, 2014 - Today marks the 22nd annual "Stamp out Hunger" Day.

Postal workers have been busy all day picking up non-perishable food items while on their daily routes and then taking the collected food items back to locations all throughout the area.

Officials said it feels great to give back, and that these collections are very much appreciated by families in need.

The food either goes directly to families in need, or to the Second Harvest Food Bank.

The goal was to collect 100-150 thousand lbs of food.
