Millcreek township supervisors announced the shut down of the center last month but senior citizens are fighting back.
The forum, hosted by Concerned Citizens of Millcreek was intended to respond to Millcreek Township Supervisor, John Groh’s editorial in the Erie Times News about the closing.
CCOM says the article contained multiple false statements and they hoped to have a conversation with supervisors tonight, but the supervisors did not attend.
"Our chances of getting it to change are probably five percent at best but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try, that doesn't mean we should expose the inconsistencies with his statement, we're rebutting him, we still have to do that even though we may not win,” said Tom Osiecki, President of Concerned Citizens of Millcreek.
These town hall meetings will continue every Tuesday until the center closes its doors August 27.
