As Congressman Mike Kelly campaigns for re-election, he stops in Erie touting a new piece of legislation aimed at giving small businesses an incentive to help them grow.

Congressman Mike Kelly was touting his latest legislation, The Restaurant and Retail Jobs and Growth Act.

He introduced the bill in the House of Representatives with three other congressmen.

Congressman Mike Kelly stood alongside entrepreneur and restaurant owner Chris Sirianni calling this bill common sense legislation.

The bill would give restaurants, retail outlets and other businesses tax breaks for new construction and improvements.

It would make permanent a 15 year tax depreciation schedule down from the original 39 and a half year that is usually required.

Bertrand Artigues, owner of Bertrand's on North Park Row says any legislation to help small businesses is welcomed.

He says it's a tough feat owning your own small business that he says can sometimes be forgotten about.

Congressman Kelly says this bill would add certainty for those business owners when it comes to planning for the future.
