July 13, 2014 - "We believe that we really helped so many people."

Linda King is the executive director of SafeNet, an organization that assists women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

This Sunday, dozens of community members attended the 40th "birthday" celebration for the organization with a party in the organization's Big Backyard on East 9th St.

Families that attended were able to take part in many hands-on activities, eat some hot dogs and pizza, and learn about other services in the community, like the Erie County United Way's Imagination Library, which is a literacy program designed to help children under age five fall in love with literacy.
