Meanwhile, Erie police are nearing an arrest in connection to the incident.
Jesse Holmes is calling the stabbing of his son retaliation stemming from another fight he was involved in.
But he still wants Erie police to find out who attacked his son with a knife.
21 year old Jesse Holmes was stabbed nine times inside Lombardo's Tavern on April 26th.
He was in the hospital Saturday night through Wednesday of last week recovering from the wounds.
According to police six people reportedly were involved in the attack.
The father says a group of kids went looking for his son that night calling it retaliation.
Erie Police Chief Randy Bowers says a fight earlier in the day involved the victim and the family or friends of the attackers.
Chief Bowers says they obtained surveillance video from the bar that is bringing them close to identifying the suspects.
Holmes says his son knows two of the six who were involved in the incident but is hopeful police will be able to file charges against all the alleged actors.
