Thousands Celebrate Fourth of July

Thousands of people took advantage of the good weather to watch the 49th annual Millcreek Fourth of July Parade.

The parade kicked off at 10 a.m. with grand marshals, Bob and Dana MacIsaac and Jerry Gleisner.

Our own JET TV crew was on hand, throwing out candy and dancing along, and Sean Lafferty and Jill McCormick emceed the event.

Parade goers watched marching bands, clowns, danced with cheerleaders and heard sirens blaring from fire trucks.

Spectators also cheered on, and saluted, members of the military as they carried American flags…reminded of the reason we celebrate Independence Day…to honor those who have fought for our freedom.

"It's something that our forefathers gave us and it's just a free America, the greatest country in the world and they should come out and enjoy it. You know, I do," said World War II Veteran, Michael Dipanfilo.

Next year's event is expected to be even bigger, as it will be the parade's 50th anniversary.
