But when that doesn't work out, then what?
Tonight's Golden Apple Award winning teacher became a trainer of a different sort when her dream job didn't pan out.
Lou Baxter explains.
Ms. Brittany Erb teaches 5th and 6th grade science at St. George Parochial School.
Unlike many other Golden Apple Award winners, she didn't grow up dreaming about the classroom.
Brittany Erb, Golden Apple Award winner, said: "I wanted to be a ... still training? Yes (laughs).
Ms. Erb loves making science come alive for her class. Her students use words like fun and funny to describe her teaching style, and that's why they nominated her for a Golden Apple Award.
Jenna Bevan, student nominator, said: "Because she's just ... respect her."
Alex Valerio, student nominator, said: "She just makes learning ... I love her."
Lou Baxter, yourerie.com, said: "Today's fun tasty ... effective way to teach."
Brittany, "They love doing activities ... today's experiment."
Mary Jo Melvin, PhD, Edinboro University, said: "She breaths life into it ... science experiments."
Without a doubt, Sea World's loss is St. George's gain. Congratulations to Brittany Erb, this week's Jet 24/Edinboro University Golden Apple Award winner. Lou Baxter, Jet 24 Action News.
