1 Injured in 7 Vehicle Crash

A medical issue is suspected as the cause of a 7 vehicle crash that happened Friday evening. The crash happened at 8 pm on Route 20 in North Kingsville, Ashtabula County. A commercial transportation van owned by an Indiana based company, left the roadway and struck 5 cars in the Greg Sweet Ford dealer lot and then came to rest against another van. Witnesses say the van had been driving on the wrong side of the road for about a half mile before leaving the road and hitting the other vehicles. The driver, who has not been identified, was trapped and had to be cut out of her van by fire department personnel. She was flown to Metro Health in Cleveland with serious injuries. The dealer was closed at the time and none of the other vehicles were occupied.
