ERIE, Pa. -- The Pennsylvania Department Transportation announced a $20 million construction project to improve the busy Interchange Road.

The Interchange Road improvement project will focus on a mile and a half of Interchange Road to Zuck Road.

It will widen Zimmerly Road from three lanes to five lanes from Zuck Road to Interstate 79 and replace the bridge over Walnut Creek.

New turn lanes will be added and seven traffic signals will be upgraded.

Construction is expected to begin in October and be complete in 2018.
