29 year old man arrested after apt. search results in $40,000 worth of heroin

A 29-year-old Erie man is behind bars tonight, charged in connection with the latest drug bust in the city.  Peiaris Bell was taken into custody Tuesday night after police searched his apartment, seizing a large quantity of suspected heroin and a stolen gun.  

The search happened around 7:30 last night at Bell's apartment in the 400 block of West 8th Street.  The Erie Police Drug & Vice Unit, in collaboration with Millcreek Police and the Erie County DA Drug Task Force, worked with informants to make undercover purchases in a three-month investigation.

Police seized 200 grams of heroin with a street value of more than $40,000.  Bell is facing several drug charges including possession with intent to deliver and a stolen firearms charge.

He is in the Erie County Prison on $250,000 bond.
