Agreement blooms between Waldameer and Millcreek Township

A compromise is blooming between Millcreek Township and Waldameer Park. The concern is landscaping around the popular attraction.

It all started with the parking lot along Peninsula Drive and concerns that the lot didn't meet the township's ordinances on providing enough green space. The sticking point was trees in the lot and not just along the road. The new agreement with Waldameer Owner Paul Nelson not only meets those requirements; the township says it does even more.  John Morgan, Millcreek Township Supervisor, says, "he had the opportunity to go bare minimum on this and instead worked with us to really put an enhancement in place that really is a good benefit to the community".

As a result of the agreement, 16 new evenly spaced trees will be planted in the parking lot.
