An Eye For Design: Mercyhurst Students Take their Classwork into the Real World

For many stores, it's all about that eye catching display.

Students from the Mercyhurst University's fashion department are putting together displays at the Pointe Foure Vintage Boutique in an event called Fall into Fashion. It's a semester long project that puts all the skills they have learned to the test. The displays not only helps the boutique but also helps the students learn outside the classroom.

"It's definitely extremely important to get hands on experience compared to just like learning from a PowerPoint. So getting the hands on experience really lets students really get a feel of what its like to be out in the fashion industry," said Camilo Rodriguez, event coordinator.

The public is invited to Fall into Fashion tomorrow where they can vote on their favorite displays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
