Downtown Erie is getting prepped for Celebrate Erie, kicking off Thursday night. Today, Erie Public Works crews started blocking off a few streets as the main stage is assembled at the corner of 4th and State streets.
Some last minute street repairs are also taking place around Perry Square before the vendors set up later this week.
“Today, you will see that we are closing the parks, the streets, we understand that is an inconvenience, it’s an inconvenience to those who live and work downtown," says Jill Beck, Assistant to the Mayor.
State Street is now closed from 3rd Street to 5th Street, also West 4th Street from Peach to French streets.
Wednesday at 7am:
State Street from 5th to 11th streets
North Park Row and South Park Row from Peach to French
Thursday at 6pm:
5th Street from Peach Street to French Street
Friday at 10am:
All East to West routes from Peach to French that cross State Street
*Roads will remain closed until late Monday afternoon 8/21/17 for clean up.
