A 28 year old Erie man has been charged with intentionally setting a home on fire on Erie's east side Thursday.
Police have charged Stephen Stitt with arson and risking a catastrophe. They believe that Stitt set a mattress in an upstairs apartment on fire and it was no accident.
Chief Don Dacus of the Erie Police Department tells us, "Some of the fine details are still under investigation, but we were able to determine that he intentionally set the fire within that apartment. So, he was charged with Arson and Recklessly Endangering Others."
No one was injured, but it is believed that a young child was in the building at the time.
