An Ashtabula County man is dead following a officer involved shooting Saturday afternoon. The Ashtabula Star-Beacon is reporting that sheriff's deputies were called to Parks Road near Colebrook, in southern Ashtabula County for a domestic violence incident at about 3pm. When deputies arrived, they encountered a 56 year old male in the front yard with a rifle. Deputies attempted to talk to the man but he refused to communicate. He then started towards the rear of the home and stopped, allegedly pointing the rifle at the deputies, who then opened fire. The man was transported to UH Geauga Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations was called to the scene to handle the investigation. The victim has not been identified. An autopsy is scheduled by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiners Office.
