ERIE, Pa. -- A few months after Sears announced it would close its Millcreek Mall location, another store is moving in.
Boscov's will take over two-story, 140,000 square-foot-space Sears currently occupies. The store will begin to renovate and add on to the building starting in January.
There is no official timetable set as to when Boscov's will open. A spokesperson for the Millcreek Mall announced in September that Sears will close at the end of the 2016 holiday season.
The department store, which currently has several stores in Pennsylvania, is described as similar to Macy's.
Millcreek Township supervisors are excited to see the chain come to the Millcreek Mall.
"It is nice,” supervisor John Groh said. “It is something exciting here for the Millcreek Mall. I'm sure people that know of the store Boscov's will be very pleased to hear that it's coming here.”
