Millcreek Police were called to a home at West 12th Street and Oregon Avenue for a reported standoff. Police say the man was calling for a counselor but made comments about having a gun inside.
Police say once they arrived on the scene, they tried to make contact with him, but he would not come out. With the help of negotiators and a behavioral health specialist, he eventually surrendered, however, he was not complying with instructions, and officers used a taser.
They then took the man into custody. He was taken to Millcreek Community Hospital to be medically cleared. Police are still investigating and any charges are still to be determined.
