A major dress retailer and manufacturer shuts their doors unexpetedly and abuptly, leaving thousands of brides scrambling.
Alfred Angelo, a Florida based company, filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. In addition to their 63 corporate stores, they provide dresses to nearly 1400 bridal shops nationwide.
Christine Wells, owner of Bridal Elegance in Millcreek, carries the brand in her shop. She says she found out about the shutdown online. "Nothing from Alfred Angelo," says Wells, "for four days their phones have been a recording that says they were updating their computer system and their phone system."
Wells says her store is working with a third party retailer to try to fill the Alfred Angelo orders for her customers. She says no matter what, her customers won't be losing any of their money.
