Buffalo-based store to open in former Erie County Farms space

ERIE, Pa. -- There is another grocery store moving into the vacant Erie County Farms space.

Super Price Choppers, a grocery store based in Buffalo, has confirmed they are coming to Erie in the Perry Plaza where Erie County Farms once operated.

Super Price Choppers has two locations in Buffalo but this will be their first in northwest Pennsylvania.

Owner Bob Guenther refused to comment on when they will open, but said he plans a trip to Erie next week where he will release more details.

Erie County Farms owner Natalie Pacileo was forced to close and liquidate following an order by Erie County Bankruptcy Judge Thomas Agresti Nov. 23.

Agresti ordered the store into Chapter 7 bankruptcy, forcing the store to close. Pacileo has nearly $130,000 in unpaid federal and state payroll tax.
