One dead in car-bus crash in New York

SINCLAIRVILLE, N.Y. -- One man is dead following a crash that involved a Coach USA bus in Chautauqua County Monday morning.

Traffic officials said the accident closed down more than half a mile of Route 60 in Chautauqua County. Emergency crews closed Jamestown Street and Sylvester Road in the Village of Sinclairville around 9 a.m.

Investigators said a car driven by Justin Lee Romaniuk, of Lakewood, crossed the center line for an unknown reason. He slammed into the front of the bus driven by Debra Lee Grimes, also of Lakewood.
 
Police said Romaniuk was pronounced dead at the scene. Grimes was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
   
No charges are expected in the case.

Sinclairville is about 20 miles north of Jamestown.
